On August 27, 2016 the Sacramento County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy joined county employees, volunteers, and neighbors for a South Sacramento Neighborhood Clean Up! Coordinated by the County Code Enforcement, the cleanup occurred in the Fruitridge/Martin Luther King area and had two main drop off sites at Pacific elementary School and Ethel I. Baker Elementary School. Each drop off had multiple dumpsters for a number of different materials to be thrown away or recycled.
On top of encouraging the community to come out and get rid of their trash, county employees also drove the streets picking up any illegal dumping area. All in all, a total of 37 tons of trash was removed, making the community cleaner and safer!
Remember, if you see illegal dumping in your neighborhood, reporter it to the County by calling 3-1-1 or using the County’s 3-1-1 mobile app.
