There was great news for District 2 in December when the SACOG Board, of which Supervisor Kennedy is a member, announced a grant that will fund three important projects in the district.
1. The Power Inn Improvement Project ($4,000,000) will widen Power Inn between Florin Road and 52nd Avenue, modify the Florin Road – Power Inn intersection and MOST IMPORTANTLY install curb, gutter, sidewalks, ADA ramps, bike lane improvements and landscaped medians, making a currently dangerous area much safer and pedestrian friendly;
2. The Franklin Boulevard Streetscape Project, ($443,000) will provide planning and engineering for lane reductions, bike lanes, landscaping and street parking on Franklin Boulevard between Sutterville Road and the County line. Franklin Boulevard has long deserved a more pedestrian scale; And,
3. The Franklin Cycle Track ($2,028,000 tiered funding) will provide bike and pedestrian connections to transit facilities and schools on Franklin Boulevard between Cosumnes River Boulevard and Calvine Road, providing a safer, protected bike path.
