During my twenty years of serving the neighborhoods of the 5th District, improving and protecting our communities has always been my focus. I was born and raised in Sacramento. My wife, Judy, and I rented our first home in Oak Park almost 20 years ago. We've raised our family here. Today I serve as Vice President on the Sacramento City School Board. In the past I served as President of the Oak Park Neighborhood Improvement Association and later helped start the Hollywood Park Neighborhood Association. Working with community leaders we cleaned up our parks and fought for safer streets.

I'm proud that our Sacramento Police Officers are supporting me because they trust my commitment to keep our communities safe. I'm proud that our Firefighters are supporting me because I have pledged to keep our fire stations open.

I believe that our elected leaders should be accessible and available. I don’t think you should have to go to City Hall to voice your concerns. That is why I have committed to opening a District Office when elected – at no cost to the taxpayer.
